Drop chance versus farming speed
The listed 43 MP is per ingredient unit. It is not a character-level gate or proof that this is the highest-value material in the game. Later regions have other materials.
At a listed 43% rate, ten completed attempts have an expected 4.3 drops; at 14% they have an expected 1.4, and at 13% an expected 1.3. These averages do not guarantee a result. Do not compare ten boss kills with ten mutant kills without also measuring their total time.
Example inputs: 43% at 60 seconds per cycle gives 4.3 expected drops in ten minutes; 14% at 15 seconds gives 5.6. The times are illustrative, not a benchmark. The time comparison lets you enter your own cycle times and exclude sources you cannot complete.
For a five-slot brew, count ingredient units rather than unique names. Three Furnace Cores total 129 MP; that is one point below the BloxInformer Night Wraith entry (130) but matches Destructoid’s entry (129). This disagreement is a reason to inspect the current game UI, not to promise a particular potion. Reaching any threshold still leaves a random brewing result.
